Carol Linden, the winner of the blind trolley dash, made her run in Sainsbury's Hamilton store.
She managed a terrific £130 worth of goods in her trolley in only 2 minutes wearing a pair of blacked out goggles - WELL DONE CAROL! Sainsbury's awarded Carol a £130 gift card to spend in the store and was also presented some flowers by Paul Kerr, Deputy Store Manager.
Carol said It was a nerving experience but one I would never change. I think everyone who has sight should try something like this to apprecaite and understand what blind people need to deal with everyday.
Carol was given a few tips on success for her dash by our founder Anne.
Carol added, I'm a control freak and this experience took me way out my comfort zone.
We take too many things for granted like our sight and our hearing but I now have the upmost respect and admiration for Anne as she has such a positive attitude and is achieving great things with the charity. We would like to thank Carol for being such a great sport and giving us such a laugh when she missed her trolley a number of times. We think that Paul presented her the flowers to say thank you for not demolishing the store! We would like to say a big thank you to Sainsbury's Hamilton for being great sports too especially to Paul, Sheena and Sheona who helped keep Carol (and their store) in one piece.
