A modern Scottish restaurant serving all the classics from morning to evening but in a fresh
fuss-free way - has created 25 new jobs for Coatbridge.
Decks Coatbridge Tesco Extra on Faraday Retail Park, South Circular Road,, opens its three new
eating ‘decks’ on Friday 29th August from 8am and is a retail-based casual dining concept serving
up a slice of homeand the best of Scottish food – like a proper breakfast, a classic roast for all the
family and a good old-fashioned cuppa and indulgent cake.
What’s more, it’s all about convenience and comfort, a nice place to sit, dining at your own pace
and enjoying the freedom of ‘eating with your eyes’ – choosing and helping yourself to food and
being able to see in front of you the freshness and quality of ingredients and even how they’re
prepared and where they come from?
Decks Coatbridge general manager, Lynn Smeaton (31), explains: “If you’ve often wondered
where to eat in Coatbridge for wholesome, honest, real food – with plenty of choice - that both
looks and tastes good, then you’ve come to the right place. Decks Coatbridge celebrates the
best of home cooking and embodies the simplicity, warmth and authenticity of it. It seeks to
satisfy our renewed interest in our own produce as well as the rejuvenation of quintessentially.
British eating customs – specifically the full cooked breakfast, the Sunday roast and tea for two.
“We’re becoming much more switched on to the importance of good food, freshness, seasonality
but we also want it now and on the spot, wherever our busy day takes us. We haven’t got time to
prepare home-cooked meals as well as fit in the shopping, work, collecting the kids from school
dropping them off at clubs, going to the gym, etc. Plus, we don’t want to pay through the nose for it.
While the current market proves we’re willing to spend more on good food, despite the nation’s
economic difficulties, it also highlights the importance of value for money – and we tick all these boxes.
“We don’t scrimp on portions or ingredients; there’s plenty of it and plenty of choice too - something for
everyone. We haven’t held back on our fully equipped and state-of-the-art kitchen either, to prepare and
cook all our freshly made food from scratch. The new team at Decks Coatbridge is the best too. We like
