Get along to the Eagle Inn in Coatbridge on Saturday 18th February to take part in a very special music fundraising night.
The night is being organised by Annie Mack and aims to raise money for the charity Live for Life Foundation, which aims to educate communities about Huntington's Disease.
Live for Life say:
"Huntington's disease is an inherited neurological disease of the brain, for which there is no cure; it is a 50/50 chance of inheriting this disease when a child is born to a parent with HD. The disease damages the nerve cells in the brain causing deterioration and gradual loss of function of areas of the brain. This affects movement, cognition (perception, awareness, thinking, judgement) and behaviour. Huntington’s disease needs to be understood so the next generation DOES have a brighter future. The only way is to get the word out there; HD isn't an illness to be ignored or ashamed of.
"We want to bring both HD sufferers and able bodied people together through a variety of events. This will help HD families feel part of their communities and raise awareness in a more positive manner Support from the communities / donations from local businesses /local council offices /MSP’s all help the Live for Life Foundation achieve their goals HD effects thousands every year and it is our wish to help these people live a happier life and bring smiles to the faces of all those involved and I can promise you will always feel part of a very caring community."
To help raise money for this very worthy cause Annie has organised a night of live music, performed by local unsigned bands. On the line up are Angus Buchan, The Cosmonauts, Gary Pilkington, The Gloop and SO4.
